Looking back referencing the first day of class, I can see how much my writing has evolved. I've gained valuable knowledge about the many intricate processes that exist when composing and how to be advantageous in the use of these processes and methods. I feel that my writing has gained strength and yet, after this course, there is so much to expand on and adapt into my writing.
This course elucidates the many methods, approaches, structures, mechanisms, and other tools available when writing, and though it certainly isn't expected to conclude this course with an strong aggregate understanding of these methods, it raises awareness to the many possibilities you can undergo when composing a piece for any situation. This awareness, I feel, creates room for me to grow as a writer and learn to actively use and implement the many mechanisms taught, in order to see my writing evolve in the "right" direction.
I learned the grave importance of rhetoric and the capability to scrutinize and analyze a rhetorical situation, whether you or someone else is the rhetor. I greatly appreciate the many framing mechanisms and perspectives shown on how to analyze a paper and how to present an idea in an efficient eloquent manner. These skills will not only benefit me in my writing but will reverberate all throughout my professional and personal careers.
The importance of written communication in today's society is a paramount attribute that allows a person to percolate up through the crowds of many in a sea of text. I know these skills I learned are aggregate pieces knowledge that will continue to grow and expand as I mature academically and professionally. This I know will prepare me for my professional career where efficient communication and the ability to identify and analyze the many aspects of it, will render me fit for any discourse community.
I feel that I need to improve on utilizing the many available framing mechanisms for analysis and how to truly deliver a powerful point in writing to a multitude of audiences. This I feel is challenging and gravely useful.
